Community Moments - The Great Pumpkin Festival For the past ten years Holliston Sand has been a sponsor of The Great Pumpkin Festival in North Smithfield, R.I.. The festival is a compilation of non-profit organizations that get together for a community event to raise the funds for their projects. It is important to Holliston to support the local non-profits and the community.

Community Moments: St. Charles Borromeo Rain Garden Project In Woonsocket, R.I., storm water at St. Charles Borromeo Church is causing contamination in the Blackstone River. Holliston Sand donated stone and sand to help create a rain garden that absorbs runoff storm water before it gets to the river.

Partner Highlights: Roger Williams University - Wetlabs research With handmade filters, the Roger Williams University Marine Lab in Bristol, R.I., uses specially formulated filtration sands from Holliston Sand to filter their aquaculture tanks.

Community Moments: Audubon Society of Rhode Island When educating the public the Audubon Society of Rhode Island uses replica environments for their animal habitats. The high-grade gravel and sand components that are inside these habitats were donated by Holliston Sand in an effort to help contribute to the community.

Community Moments: Audubon Society's Raptor Weekend The Audubon Society of Rhode Island hosts a Raptor Weekend in Bristol, R.I., where people can come see and learn about different birds of prey; the goal of the weekend is to raise awareness and promote conservation of raptors. Holliston Sand donated the sand for a new raptor habitat at the Audubon so that they may welcome a new member of the raptor family.

Community Moments - Providence Children's Museum Annual Golf Fundraise On August 3, nearly 100 golfers from across southern New England took part in Providence Children’s Museum’s 32nd Annual Allen H. Chatterton Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament, held at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, RI. The tournament, presented by Admirals Bank, netted a record $51,000 to benefit the Museum’s hands-on exhibits and innovative educational programs.

Community Moments: The Steelyard's Firecamp The Steelyard, a community art center for industrial arts, in Providence, R.I., hosts a Firecamp each year where they give the community an opportunity to carve their own sand tiles and have their artwork cast in iron. Holliston Sand who is devoted to helping the community donated all the sand for the sand tile molds.

Holliston Sand is a proud supporter of Water For People, whose mission is to ensure that everyone around the world has access to safe drinking water and sanitation. Working towards this mission to ensure global water access and being stewards the environment is one of Holliston’s core principals. This celebration is to acknowledge the progress made towards these issues surrounding global water and sanitary conditions.

Partner Highlights: UMass Turf Grass Research When you have a USGA green like the Turf Grass Center at University of Massachusetts does, having a uniform product that meets particle specifications is crucial. This is why Holliston Sand provides UMass with top quality uniform product and the Turf Grass Center has seen significant improvements in the quality of their grass.

Partner Highlights: UMass Greenhouse Labs The University of Massachusetts Greenhouse Lab uses controlled environments to do research on different grasses. With this type of research consistency is key. Which is why UMass works with Holliston Sand, with our flexibility we have established a great working relationship with the program as well as providing them with high quality consistent sand.

Holliston provides custom sand for TPC for their bunkers, and provides the same product with the same consistency every single time.

Quality sand to work with when creating these glass arts! This time around, we partnered with the Rhode Island School of Design for a unique project that proves we have what it takes to DELIVER! Meet John Pierce, an expert at fine glass crafting and see what he has to say about our SAND, you don’t want to miss this!

Holliston Sand + University of Rhode Island: Sand Media Course Holliston Sand partners with the University of Rhode Island College of Environmental and Life Sciences particularly the Natural Resource Science Department to host hands on classes at our headquarters. The class allows students to have real world experience in the field and learn from people who work in the industry.

Partner Highlight: Australis Aquaculture Holliston Sand provides well-graded and uniform products, which Australis Aquaculture in Turners Falls, Mass., uses in its biofiltration systems. Although the sand is not being used in the traditional filtration sense, it is used as a habitat for microorganisms within the biofilter tanks.

Partner Highlight: Silpro At Silpro LLC Corporation in Ayer, Mass., products for concrete repair, masonry and flooring require that strict specifications be met and Holliston Sand provides raw sand materials that are consistent, dependable and specially crafted for the customer.

Partner Highlights: Turf Show- Providence, Rhode Island Holliston Sand has been proud exhibitor since the New England Turfgrass Show and Conference has been taking place. With almost 350 booths the event is a great place to show off product and network with other companies.
